Who's Who at the Scottish Rite
Brother Charles D. Thompson 32º KCCH, a Past Master of Jake Rice Lodge #606, is one of those rare Masons who give 100% to everything which he belongs; whether it be Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shrine, O.E.S., community affairs, or church. He is well known as the ‘go to’ guy, if you need a Chairman, Board Member, or just a Committeeman who ‘gets it done’. He does not join Masonic organizations, civic organizations, or committees unless he participates in the fullest.
Brother Charlie currently serves 11 different civic organizations including: State level Committees of both the Kentucky Farm Bureau on E.P.A. and Kentucky Farm Bureau on Foliage, a Past Chairman of Agriculture Stabilization of seven Kentucky Counties, Board Member of Johnson County Farm Bureau serving as a Soil Conservation Supervisor while maintaining a active roll in the Lawrence County Historical Society. He also on occasion, chaperons alternative school children.
Charlie’s Masonic and Shrine accomplishments are too numerous to list, as he serves on eight different committees for his lodge and Eastern Star, various Grand Lodge Committees, and involved in four different Shrine programs; a Past Master of Ted Adams Lodge of Research an honorary member of both Chandlersville and Paintsville Lodges and nominated for the Royal Order of Scotland. Charlie, with his lovely wife Tressie, and youngest son (a Fellow Craft in #606) attend Flat Gap Baptist Church.
Having received his 32º Master of the Royal Secret in March, 2003, Charlie’s activities and public relation skills were quickly noted by Covington Scottish Rite, gaining him the rank and decoration of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor in November, 2007. He is a member of the Court of Honor; Ashland – Russell Scottish Rite Club; and Life Member and honoree of the 1200 Club. Charlie is currently serving Covington Scottish Rite as District Ambassador over Elliot, Carter, Greenup, Lawrence, Boyd, and Scioto Counties. An outstanding, Mason an outstanding Shriner, an outstanding Scottish Rite Mason, and an outstanding man in the community and his church – that’s Charles D. Thompson.
